David Lazer, the executive producer of The Muppet Show and Jim Henson’s feature films, including The Dark Crystal, was a long-time collaborator dating back to Lazer’s role as audio-visual manager for IBM in the mid-1960s. He recruited Jim and his team to create meeting films for IBM during that period and joined what was then Henson Associates in 1975. Along with his executive producing duties, Lazer was indispensable to Jim throughout the years as a trusted advisor and friend. Lazer continued working with the Henson family as a member of the Board of Directors, holding the position of Vice Chairman, Emeritus.
