Actress and musical theater performer Louise Gold was a puppeteer for the Gourmand Skeksis on The Dark Crystal. Gold began her work with Jim Henson in 1977 during the second season of The Muppet Show. Her main role was performing Annie Sue, the young pig rival to Miss Piggy. She also performed countless Whatnot characters and creatures while providing them a unique voice, as she was the only British puppeteer on the series and one of the only women. She later went to work on other Henson projects such as The Great Muppet Caper, Labyrinth, The Muppet Christmas Carol, Sesame Street, and Muppet Treasure Island. Before working for Jim Henson, Gold trained at the Arts Education School where she focused in singing and dance. Throughout her career, she has worked with repertory companies in England, demonstrating her tremendous range in numerous West End shows such as Oliver!, Mamma Mia, Noises Off, The Cherry Orchard, The Pirates of Penzance, and Mary Poppins.
